Sarah Wright - Abstract Mural Artist!

Colorful. Abstract. Clean lines.

I love that I can put my creativity on a wall that brings joy and brightness to a community. For me, murals are more than paint — they’re energy. Every wall has the potential to lift a space, tell a story, or make someone smile as they pass by. Whether it’s a playful kids’ mural, bold geometric design, or an abstract burst of color, I’m inspired by how art transforms ordinary walls into experiences.

My Style

My work is colorful, abstract, and defined by clean lines. I also geek out on lettering. Love doing lettering murals!

I’m drawn to geometric shapes, flowing letters, and design elements that bring a sense of movement and balance. Every mural is designed to fit the personality of its space — whether that means adding brightness to a local business, joy to a child’s room, or creative flair to a community wall.

The Creative Process

When starting a new project, I like to see the wall or building in person. The surface, size, and setting guide my color palette. Sometimes a client has a vision or a favorite set of colors — when that aligns with the space, I love bringing their ideas to life. My process always includes a mockup before paint ever touches the wall, so clients can visualize and tweak their design until it feels right. Once we finalize the plan, the fun begins — bringing that vision to life, layer by layer.

Favorite Projects

One of my favorite projects was an abstract geometric mural on the Lodge Building in Wake Village, Texarkana. That community truly needed color, and it makes me happy knowing people enjoy driving by it every day. Murals can transform not only a building, but the energy of an entire neighborhood.

Materials & Mediums

I work with a variety of materials — oil paint, acrylics, and Venetian plaster are my favorites. Each medium offers something different: oil for depth, acrylic for versatility, and plaster for texture and elegance.

Shared Vision, Unique Style

My husband, Joel Wright, and I both create high-end murals, but our styles complement each other beautifully. Joel focuses on landscapes, realism, and wildlife, while I specialize in abstract design, lettering, and fine-line details. Together, we bring a full spectrum of creativity to every project.

Why Murals Matter

Murals have the power to change how a space feels. They can spark joy, inspire calm, or completely transform a room’s energy. A mural might even change your daily routine — maybe you take a new route to work just to see that bright, happy wall that makes you smile. That’s what I love most about mural art: it’s not confined to a frame or gallery. It’s art that lives, breathes, and interacts with the world around it.
